The hardware layer sitting inside that facility acquires an assurance nobody ever granted it, and the parts position underneath goes unexamined because the number above it looks reassuring.

The failure modes do not overlap

A facility protects against utility power loss, cooling failure, and the need to maintain either. Those are substantial and worth paying for. It offers nothing at all against an array controller failing, a backplane fault, or a power supply dying inside your chassis — and no degree of facility redundancy shortens that repair by a minute, because the missing component is yours.

What a colocated estate actually needs

The same components as any estate, with one aggravating factor: nothing on site belongs to you except your own hardware, so there is nothing to borrow from. Drives, power supplies, the array controller and its battery, either in your rack or obtainable fast enough to matter. ICD supplies these across Dell, HPE, Lenovo, Cisco and IBM well past vendor end of support, consigned directly to a data centre dock with your rack reference, identified from the serial, tested, and warranted for one to three years.

The layer the facility rating does not cover

A colocated estate needs its own parts position precisely because everything around it is contracted to someone else and the hardware is not. We establish what is installed from the serial and ship by express courier from Cairo, agreeing the arrival window per consignment.
