Data Destruction Methods

• Software-based sanitization (NIST 800-88 Clear/Purge) for drives being remarketed, using certified overwriting software with verification passes that render data unrecoverable while preserving the physical drive for reuse
• Degaussing using NSA-evaluated degaussers that destroy magnetic media data by exposing drives to powerful magnetic fields, suitable for HDD and tape media requiring permanent destruction without physical shredding
• Physical destruction (NIST 800-88 Destroy) through industrial shredding that reduces drives to fragments no larger than 2mm, providing the highest assurance level for top-secret classified data and SSD media where software sanitization may be insufficient
• On-site destruction performed at your facility using mobile shredding equipment when security policy prohibits storage media from leaving your premises

How It Works

1. Consultation and Scoping: We assess the volume and types of storage media requiring destruction, your security classification requirements, and any regulatory standards that must be met. This determines the appropriate destruction method.
2. Secure Collection: Media is collected from your facility with documented chain of custody. Tamper-evident containers and GPS-tracked vehicles ensure security during transport to our processing center.
3. Certified Destruction: Each drive is processed according to the agreed method. Serial numbers are recorded pre- and post-destruction. For physical destruction, photographic evidence documents the process.
4. Documentation Delivery: You receive individual certificates of destruction per asset, a summary report suitable for compliance audits, and optional video documentation of the destruction process.
