Where the authorised channel is thin, more equipment reaches the end user through a chain of intermediaries, and every additional step is a point at which the description and the item can quietly separate.

A mislabelled part works, and that is the problem

If a substituted component failed immediately it would be an inconvenience. It does not. A drive presented as one specification but manufactured to a lower one passes an initial check, reports the right identifiers, and performs acceptably for weeks. It fails early under sustained production load, by which time it is inside an array carrying live data and the party that supplied it is no longer reachable. The loss is never the price of the component.

Verification has to happen before dispatch, not on arrival

Checking a part on receipt is better than nothing, but it is late — the decision to buy has been made and the alternative is a dispute. The point at which verification is cheap is before the part leaves the supplier, and the practical test of whether a supplier does it is simple: ask for the serial number of the specific unit being sold. A supplier who can give you that is holding an identified item. A supplier who cannot is describing a category.

Parts leave our Cairo warehouse by express courier, priced in US dollars, with the expected window confirmed per consignment.
