A large share of the enterprise hardware running in China belongs to multinational operations whose infrastructure standards were set by a head office in another country. The platform, the generation and the configuration were chosen centrally; the responsibility for keeping it running sits with a local team. That split works well until the vendor retires the generation, at which point the local team inherits a supply problem it did not create.

A global standard is only useful if it can be maintained

The point of a corporate hardware standard is consistency: the same platform, the same configuration, the same operational procedures across every site. That consistency is valuable and worth protecting. It also means a replacement part must genuinely conform to the standard rather than merely function, because a site that quietly diverges has stopped being part of the estate the standard describes.

We supply the generations that OEM channels have discontinued, matched to the exact configuration the standard specifies, so a locally maintained site can stay conformant without a central escalation. Every part we supply is dispatched from our warehouse in Cairo, Egypt — that is our sole origin and it is stated on the quotation, the invoice and the airway bill. The Asia lane runs four to seven days with clearance typically adding one to three. Pricing is in US dollars against the specific configuration.
