Who we are
Since 2005, ICD has supplied enterprise servers, storage, networking parts and data centre maintenance to businesses in Egypt, the Gulf, Africa and beyond.
Why this role matters
Africa is one of ICD's broadest growth markets, and this role opens the doors that our account teams then grow. You will build ICD's presence with enterprises, government bodies, system integrators and resellers across North and Sub-Saharan Africa.
What you will do
- Identify and prioritise new African markets and customer segments for enterprise server, storage and networking parts, complete systems and third-party maintenance (TPM).
- Build relationships with IT leaders, system integrators, resellers and service partners in target countries and turn them into active accounts.
- Shape and run country entry plans, covering partner selection, route to market and the hiring route through ICD's Nairobi branch or an employer-of-record.
- Lead early-stage opportunities from first meeting to qualified request, then hand them to account managers with clear customer and installed-base information.
- Introduce EKODAQ IT asset disposition and data sanitisation services to customers retiring data centre equipment.
- Represent ICD at industry events, partner meetings and customer visits across the region.
- Keep every lead, contact and opportunity current in ERPNext and report pipeline and market insight to the Africa Regional Director.
- Coach the regional account managers on new-market approach and partner development.
What you bring
- 8+ years in B2B technology sales or business development, including at least 4 years covering African markets.
- Proven record of opening new countries, partners or customer segments in enterprise IT hardware, data centre infrastructure or IT services.
- Solid understanding of server, storage and networking platforms from vendors such as Dell, HPE, Lenovo, Cisco or NetApp.
- Experience building and managing reseller and system integrator relationships.
- Strong presentation, negotiation and relationship skills with senior stakeholders.
- Disciplined pipeline management in a CRM (ERPNext or similar).
Nice to have
- Experience with third-party maintenance, refurbished parts or IT asset disposition.
- Existing network in markets such as Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa or the Maghreb.
- Knowledge of public tender processes in African countries.
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or a related field.
