Who we are
Since 2005, ICD has supplied enterprise servers, storage, networking parts and data centre maintenance to businesses in Egypt, the Gulf, Africa and beyond.
Why this role matters
ICD moves parts from suppliers in the US, the UK and Europe to customers across the Middle East and Africa, often against tight project dates. The Logistics and Trade Operations Manager owns that flow, from freight and customs to the warehouse, so that it is fast, compliant and predictable.
What you will do
- Lead the logistics, customs and warehouse team and set clear service levels for transit time, clearance time and stock accuracy.
- Select and manage freight forwarders, couriers and customs brokers, and negotiate service agreements.
- Plan consolidation hubs and routes between the US, the UK, Europe, Cairo, Dubai and Nairobi.
- Ensure every shipment complies with customs, export-control and sanctions requirements, working with legal and compliance.
- Oversee the warehouse: receiving, put-away, serial-number control, cycle counts and dispatch in the ERP.
- Track logistics costs and KPIs and report performance and risks to the Head of Global Sourcing.
- Write and maintain logistics and trade procedures and train the team on them.
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, commerce or engineering.
- At least 7 years in international logistics and trade operations, including 3 years managing a team.
- Strong knowledge of air freight, courier networks, Incoterms and customs clearance in Egypt and the region.
- Experience with export-control and sanctions screening processes.
- Proven ability to manage service providers to agreed KPIs.
- Confident use of an ERP and data for reporting.
Nice to have
- CIPS, CSCP or an equivalent logistics qualification.
- Experience with UAE free-zone or Kenyan import operations.
- Experience shipping IT hardware or high-value electronics.
- Lean or Six Sigma training.
