Who we are
Since 2005, ICD has supplied enterprise servers, storage, networking parts and data centre maintenance to businesses in Egypt, the Gulf, Africa and beyond.
Why this role matters
What ICD can offer its customers depends on the strength of its supply base in the US, the UK and Europe. The Head of Global Sourcing builds and leads that supply base, deciding how ICD buys, from whom and under which controls.
What you will do
- Set ICD's sourcing strategy for server, storage and networking parts and complete systems across the US, the UK and Europe.
- Lead the procurement team, including buyers, purchasing coordination, market intelligence, supplier quality, logistics and warehouse.
- Build and manage a qualified supplier base of distributors, refurbishers and OEM channels, with clear onboarding, audit and rating criteria.
- Negotiate framework agreements, warranty terms and service levels with strategic suppliers.
- Define procurement policy, approval limits and controls in the ERP, and ensure compliance with trade, export-control and anti-counterfeit requirements.
- Track sourcing KPIs such as lead time, fill rate, supplier defect rate and on-time delivery, and act on the results.
- Partner with sales, presales and operations to plan for large deals, TPM spares and ITAD flows.
- Develop the team's skills and succession, and report to the CEO on supply risks and opportunities.
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain or business; a master's degree is an advantage.
- At least 10 years in international procurement of IT hardware or electronics, including 4 years leading a sourcing team.
- Established knowledge of the global enterprise IT parts market, including OEM, distribution and refurbished channels.
- Proven record of building supplier programmes, negotiating agreements and running procurement controls.
- Strong understanding of trade compliance, Incoterms and international logistics.
- Senior-level communication and decision-making with executives and suppliers.
Nice to have
- MCIPS (Chartered) or an equivalent senior procurement qualification.
- Experience with TPM spares planning or ITAD resale channels.
- Experience implementing procurement processes in ERPNext or another ERP.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
