Hardware Test Engineer

Every part ICD ships has passed through a test bench first, and that is what lets customers install it with confidence. This engineer turns incoming hardware into verified, documented stock and stops faulty units before they reach a data centre.

• Inspect and test incoming server, storage and networking parts (CPUs, memory, HDD/SSD, RAID controllers, NICs, PSUs) on ICD's test benches before they enter stock or ship.
• Run diagnostics and stress tests using vendor tools such as Dell iDRAC/Lifecycle Controller and ePSA, HPE iLO and Smart Storage Administrator, and drive SMART checks.
• Verify that part numbers, firmware levels and physical condition match the order and the customer's system.
• Update firmware and BIOS where required and record the version tested.
• Grade parts, label them with test results and record serial numbers and outcomes in the ERP.
• Prepare clear failure reports for supplier RMAs, with photos and logs.
• Maintain test benches, reference servers, cables and anti-static (ESD) controls in good working order.
• Write and improve test procedures for new part families and share them with the team.

• Bachelor's degree in electronics, computer or communications engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
• At least 2-3 years testing or repairing enterprise server and storage hardware.
• Hands-on knowledge of Dell PowerEdge and/or HPE ProLiant platforms, including RAID configuration and firmware updates.
• Ability to read part numbers, compatibility matrices and vendor documentation accurately.
• Disciplined record keeping and safe ESD handling practices.
• Ability to lift and handle server equipment safely, with reasonable adjustments available.

• CompTIA Server+ or A+ certification.
• Dell or HPE technical certifications for server or storage platforms.
• Experience with Lenovo, Cisco UCS or NetApp hardware.
• Basic Linux and Windows Server skills for OS-level testing.

Fluent Arabic and professional English, spoken and written; French is an advantage.

Office based; occasional local travel only.
