Dell Hardware Support in Nigeria When the OEM Contract Ends
Nigerian banking, telecoms and oil and gas operators run Dell PowerEdge estates far longer than the manufacturer's support window, and they do it for sound reasons: foreign exchange pressure makes a wholesale refresh expensive, and a working R730 or R740 does not become less capable because a support date has passed. What changes is that spare parts stop being a phone call and start being a logistics problem. That is the problem ICD solves.
Import lead time is the real constraint
In most markets the question is which part. In Nigeria the question is how long it will take to arrive, and whether it clears. ICD ships to Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt in three to six days from Cairo stock. For a Nigerian operator the arithmetic usually favours running the existing PowerEdge fleet for another two or three years under a maintenance agreement, and spending the capital on the workloads that genuinely need new hardware.
