x3550 M5 rail kits are IBM-lineage (now Lenovo); Dell ReadyRails required for R650. Power distribution: IBM x3550 M5 uses C14 inlets, same as Dell R650 — cable continuity preserved. Network: IBM-specific SFP transceivers do not work in Dell Intel or Broadcom adapters; budget transceiver replacements.
Post-migration OS considerations
