Dell T954J (0T954J / CN-0T954J) PERC 6/i Integrated SAS/SATA hardware RAID controller with 256 MB DDR2 battery-backed cache. Drive side is 3 Gb/s SAS and SATA via 2 x 4 internal wide ports (8 SAS ports); host side is PCI Express x8 (Gen1). Supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60, up to 32 physical drives per array, hot-swap drives, and optional battery-backed write-back cache (battery NU209 3.7 V 7 Wh Li-Ion plus battery cable are separate parts and are NOT supplied on a bare controller). Compatible with Dell PowerEdge R710, R610, R510, R410, T610, T710 and R900, and with the earlier 840 / 1900 / 1950 / 2900 / 2950 / 2970 platforms. Confirmed compatible with the customer's Dell PowerEdge R710 (11G). Two engineering limits the buyer must know: (1) the PERC 6/i is a 3 Gb/s controller, so 6 Gb/s SAS drives in an R710 will negotiate down to 3 Gb/s; (2) the PERC 6/i does not support any physical disk larger than 2 TB - for 3 TB / 4 TB or larger drives the PERC H700 (R374M / XXFVX, 512 MB, 6 Gb/s) is required. Dell alternate part numbers for the identical controller: WY335 / 0WY335, DX481 / 0DX481, H726F / 0H726F. Tested and shipped worldwide from ICD, Cairo, Egypt.
