HPE StoreEver MSL3040 Upgrade Power Supply Kit, HPE option part number Q6Q64A — the hot-swappable redundant AC power supply for the HPE StoreEver MSL3040 Scalable Tape Library. Each MSL3040 3U module has two power supply bays. The Base Module ships with ONE power supply installed; Q6Q64A populates the second bay to give N+1 redundant power, so if one supply fails the surviving supply carries the module with no interruption to running backup jobs, and the failed unit is replaced hot without powering the library down. Expansion Modules ship with NO power supply at all — a supply is only required if tape drives are installed in that expansion, and a second Q6Q64A is then needed for redundancy in that module.
