Intel Xeon 6 processors are NOT compatible — the 6700P/6500P series is LGA 4710 and the 6900P series is LGA 7529, both physically different sockets. Populate DIMMs in balanced sets across all 8 channels per installed processor; unbalanced population costs memory bandwidth. SAS/SATA drives on the front backplane require a PERC or HBA controller; NVMe drives connect direct to the CPU and do not use the RAID controller. Rear bay count is fixed by the riser configuration ordered with the chassis — confirm 2-bay versus 4-bay before planning your NVMe tier.
