HPE 870794-001 (option kit 870757-B21): 600GB SAS 12Gb/s, 15,000 RPM, 2.5in SFF hot-plug hard drive in an HPE Smart Carrier (SC), with digitally signed firmware. HPE currently sells the option as 'HPE 600GB SAS 12G Mission Critical 15K SFF SC 3-year Warranty Multi Vendor HDD'. This is a performance-tier drive for databases, virtualization and transaction workloads; it is not a nearline or bulk-capacity drive. Compatibility: HPE PartSurfer lists this spare in the ML350 Gen10 LFF CTO, SFF CTO and SFF Rack CTO servers, and the ML350 Gen10 QuickSpecs list 870757-B21 as a supported drive. Requirements in the ML350 Gen10: (1) an SFF hot-plug drive bay, either the standard 8SFF cage or the 8SFF Hot Plug Drive Backplane Cage Kit 874568-B21; a 2.5in SC drive does not fit a 3.5in LFF bay; (2) a SAS-capable controller such as Smart Array E208i-a/p or P408i-a/p, because the embedded S100i is SATA-only; (3) the Redundant Fan Cage Kit 874572-B21, which HPE requires for 10K/15K SAS drives in this server.
