Part number 0F27399 is specifically the Dell variant of model HUH721008AL5200 — the equivalent plain-HGST retail part is 0F27356. Helium sealing lowers internal drag, which is what allows this drive to hold 7,200 RPM performance at 8 TB while running cooler and drawing less power than an air-filled drive of the same capacity — the reason it is specified for dense 12-bay and 24-bay nearline arrays.

Compatibility
Sector format is the critical check. This drive is 512e and is NOT interchangeable with a 4Kn drive — many RAID controllers and storage arrays refuse to mix the two in one array or virtual disk. Confirm the existing drives before adding to a populated chassis. As the Dell-branded variant it carries Dell firmware and is reported as a Dell part by iDRAC and PERC; a plain-HGST 0F27356 is the same hardware but will flag as non-Dell in Dell management tooling.
