Half the Estate Is Not in a Data Centre

Indonesian operations spread across many sites typically run two quite different estates under one budget. The central racks get a controlled room, filtered air and attention. A Tower in an Office Fails Differently

It breathes whatever the room breathes. None of that happens to a rack machine, and all of it shortens the life of a tower.

Years of Working Is Not Evidence of Being Protected

The failure these conditions produce is gradual. Airflow falls, operating temperature creeps upward, and eventually a power supply or a densely packed drive gives out earlier than it should. Because the decline took years, the environment is never connected to the failure and the machine is simply recorded as old — so the same conditions are recreated for its replacement.

The Cheapest Coverage in the Estate

Clearing the intake, keeping space around the chassis and replacing fans on a schedule takes ten minutes per machine per quarter and needs no skill.
