Cisco Memory in Nigeria
As Lagos and Abuja colocation scales — Rack Centre, MainOne/Equinix and a growing field of operators — Nigerian enterprises are pushing more workloads onto Cisco UCS and need memory they can source and service without a long lead time. The catch with UCS is that DIMM selection is unforgiving: ranks, speeds and channel balance all have to align or the node runs below spec. ICD supplies genuine Cisco UCS memory into Nigeria via Lagos port, matched to the exact PID, so an upgrade or replacement seats correctly the first time.
Cisco UCS DIMMs for Nigerian estates
The range covers DDR4 RDIMM/LRDIMM for the M5/M6 base and DDR5 for M7/M8. Mid-capacity RDIMMs are the most common in growing fleets — the Cisco 32GB DDR4 RDIMM 3200MHz 1Rx4 Memory for M6 servers and the Cisco 16GB DDR5 RDIMM 4800MHz 1Rx8 Memory for newer X-Series nodes.
| PID | Capacity | Type / speed | Fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| MR-X32G1RW | 32GB | DDR4 RDIMM 3200 1Rx4 | UCS C220/C240 M6 |
| UCSX-MRX16G1RE1 | 16GB | DDR5 RDIMM 4800 1Rx8 | UCS X-Series M7 |
| MR-X32G2A | 32GB | DDR4 RDIMM 2400 2Rx4 | UCS C-Series M5 |
| MR-X64G2RT-H | 64GB | DDR4 RDIMM 2933 2Rx4 | Dense M5/M6 |
Standardise the fleet, simplify the spare
In a market where rapid local vendor swap-outs are less common, fleet uniformity pays off directly. The mechanics to get right: generation first — DDR4 modules physically will not seat in DDR5 slots, so an M6 stick is useless in an M7 node. Speed and rank next — UCS clocks the bus to the slowest DIMM, so a 2400MHz module added to a 3200MHz server pulls the whole node back to 2400. Type last — RDIMM and LRDIMM never mix in one server. Pick one DIMM spec per server model across the estate and any module you hold as a spare drops in cleanly. Size kits to a balanced channel map rather than partial banks.
Lagos import and delivery
ICD routes Nigerian memory orders through Lagos port and serves the Lagos and Abuja data-centre clusters. Cisco DIMMs ship serial-traceable and warranty-backed; matching the right PID up front is what keeps a planned RAM expansion to a single delivery cycle.
