IT Systems and Security Administrator

Since 2005, ICD has supplied enterprise servers, storage, networking parts and data centre maintenance to businesses in Egypt, the Gulf, Africa and beyond.

ICD runs its quotations, orders, HR and customer communication on its own servers, ERP, email and website, so their availability and security are business-critical. This administrator keeps those systems running, backed up and protected across Cairo, Dubai and Nairobi.

• Administer the Linux servers that host the ERPNext/Frappe platform, the WordPress website, their databases and supporting web services.
• Manage user accounts, access rights, multi-factor authentication and offboarding across email, ERP and cloud services.
• Run and test backups and disaster-recovery procedures, and document restore times.
• Monitor system health, capacity and logs, and respond to incidents and alerts.
• Harden servers, firewalls, DNS and web services, apply patches safely and track vulnerabilities to closure.
• Support office networks, laptops and printers for staff in all branches.
• Maintain IT asset inventory, licences and supplier contracts.
• Write security policies and run staff awareness on phishing and data protection with the compliance team.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT or a related field.
• At least 3-4 years administering Linux servers in production.
• Working knowledge of MariaDB/MySQL, Nginx, DNS, TLS and email security (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
• Experience with backup, monitoring and patch management practices.
• Solid understanding of access control, firewalls and security hardening.
• Calm, methodical approach to incidents and clear documentation habits.

• Experience hosting Frappe/ERPNext or WordPress at scale.
• CompTIA Security+, Linux+ or RHCSA certification.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001 controls or the CIS Benchmarks.
• Scripting skills in Bash or Python.

Professional English, spoken and written; Arabic or French is an advantage.

Office based; occasional travel to the Dubai and Nairobi branches; on-call support for critical incidents.
