The Dell 405-AAZS is the PERC H755 RAID controller — Dell’s top-tier hardware RAID for PowerEdge 15th generation servers. The H755 introduces Tri-Mode support: a single controller that handles SAS, SATA, and NVMe drives simultaneously. This eliminates the need for separate NVMe switches and allows mixed drive types behind one RAID controller. With 8GB flash-backed cache and 12Gbps SAS, it is backward compatible with all existing SAS/SATA drives while adding native NVMe RAID capability.
