How many VMs can I run on a single server?

A server with 64 cores and 512 GB RAM can run 40-60 medium VMs (2 vCPU, 8 GB each) or 15-20 large VMs. Memory is typically the first constraint.

Should I use vSAN or a traditional SAN?

vSAN simplifies architecture by using local NVMe/SSD. Traditional SAN makes sense when you already have a SAN investment. Both work well.

Is VMware still the right choice after Broadcom?

VMware vSphere remains the most mature hypervisor. Many are evaluating Proxmox and Hyper-V. ICD supplies hardware compatible with all three.

Can I mix server generations in the same cluster?
