Deep-Technical — 1100W Titanium vs 2400W Platinum and iDRAC Sensor Telemetry
The iDRAC9 presents PSU telemetry (input volts, input amps, efficiency, inlet temperature) through the Redfish Power endpoint. A mixed-PSU pair — one 1100W Titanium, one 2400W Platinum — will post and run, but iDRAC raises a “mismatched PSU” event that some monitoring stacks (SolarWinds, PRTG, Zabbix with the correct template) will escalate to ticket. The array stays redundant; the alert noise masks real failures. Dell’s PowerEdge server operations guide is specific: both PSUs must be the same wattage and same efficiency rating in a redundant pair.
