Dell HDD in Egypt
ICD supplies genuine Dell EMC hard drives to data centres, system integrators and enterprises across Egypt, stocked and dispatched from our Maadi, Cairo headquarters. Whether you are rebuilding a degraded RAID set in a PowerEdge R740 or scaling cold-tier capacity on a 3.5″ backplane, we hold the spinning media your fleet was qualified against — carrier-ready, firmware-correct, and serial-tracked.
Dell SAS & NL-SAS drives we stock
Our Cairo shelf spans the full PowerEdge generation range, from 10K performance drives to high-capacity 7.2K nearline media. A representative sample of current inventory:
| Dell Part | Capacity | Speed / Interface | Form Factor | Typical PowerEdge fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0XXTRP | 600 GB | 10K / 12G SAS | 2.5″ SFF | R640, R740, R840 (G14) |
| HF0W6 | 1.8 TB | 10K / 12G SAS | 2.5″ SFF | R740xd, R750 |
| 18M8N | 18 TB | 7.2K / 12G NL-SAS | 3.5″ LFF | R740xd2, R750 LFF |
| 400-AQJN | 8 TB | 7.2K / 12G SAS | 3.5″ LFF | R540, R740xd LFF |
For 12-bay archive chassis the 18M8N 18 TB NL-SAS pairs naturally with the X7K8W LFF carrier, while latency-sensitive virtualisation hosts are better served by the 0XXTRP 600 GB 10K on a DXD9H SFF tray.
Choosing the right Dell mechanical drive
Two decisions dominate. First, form factor: 2.5″ SFF drives (15K/10K) feed dense, IOPS-hungry tiers and slot into SFF backplanes; 3.5″ LFF media (7.2K nearline) wins on cost-per-terabyte for backup, surveillance and object storage. Mixing them requires the matching backplane and carrier — a 3.5″ drive will not physically seat in an SFF cage without a converter sled. Second, security posture: standard ISE (Instant Secure Erase) drives suit most workloads, but regulated environments should specify SED (Self-Encrypting Drive) models such as the 01VPV2 1.8 TB SED, which keep data encrypted at rest and crypto-erase in seconds. Always confirm the Dell carrier generation (Gen13 vs Gen14/15) matches your chassis — the caddy, not just the drive, defines compatibility.
Why Egyptian buyers source Dell HDDs from ICD
Egypt is ICD’s home market. Our Cairo and Smart Village logistics base means qualified Dell media reaches Greater Cairo, Alexandria and Delta sites without the customs delay of overseas orders, and our team handles import documentation in-house. New Administrative Capital data-centre projects in particular lean on us for batch-matched drive sets where firmware uniformity across a RAID group is non-negotiable.
